I met with my Beading Buddy friends today for beading, chat, friendship and some good food.

I spent the day at home today finishing off some craft work. Amongst other things.........
I wrote a tutorial on my sashiko stitching which I will post next week
I made some Swarovski pearl earrings from my stash I bought yesterday and wrote a tutorial
Then I decided to go to the pool for a swim and read and to take some photos around the condo. We are on the top floor

Tuesday always starts with a Spinning Class and then a Flex Class ( like beginners yoga) and then I decided to go to Chinatown for beads and sewing supplies at my favourite stores.
Leaving the gym I walked past this fruit stall selling Durian..........I don't like this fruit but its a local favourite.....the smell puts me off.

Then on the bus to Chinatown to my favourite beading store full of Czech glass and Swarovski crystals. It is like being in a candy shop, my eyes glaze over. Usually I am very good and always buy to a project I am thinking of making.........but today I bought a stash
The shop personnel all recognise me and ask where I've been.........I say I have been very busy with my sewing which is all true. My beading has taken third place to blogging and craft. But not now with this lot......you will also see a common colour theme coming through, silvers, greys and metallic crystals and pearls.
Then onto Golden Dragon for sewing supplies..........I am after another reel of fusible bias binding to finish my Liberty Bag, but they have run out of Hunter Green.........don't you hate that. I have tried to order it, but I dont feel confident. Will wait and see otherwise Gregg will be on a mission on his next Japan trip!! But I did manage to buy some wonderful Clover goodies, including the bias binding makers and some beautiful pins. Can't wait to make Kootoyoo's pincusion to put them in. I love Clover products
Now I am just waiting for all my Amy Butler fabric I have ordered, but that's another post

My bead stash continues to grow.....
I have started to make some Christmas crackers.............I figure if I start early I might have enough done for Christmas. Not sure whether I will use them on gifts, cards or table settings yet. But they are so cute but very time consuming and fiddly.

A trip to Spotlight in Singapore is no different to going to one in Melbourne........... long queues (never go at lunch time or after school finishes) and rather messy..........but nevertheless it's a great store for all your craft needs. Actually they have opened a new one in South Melbourne just opposite their head office which I do frequent as its close to home, the market and on top of the new safeway complex.
But today the Beading Buddies group had a "Field Trip" to Plaza Singapura and here are my purchases

I am currently working on this spiral necklace
I am using the same size Swarovski crystal pearls plus silver plated seed beeds to link it all together. I have used over 100 pearls already and I might need 50 more to get the right length.

I love these Swarovski pearls. The first is a a gorgeous pewter colour that I can wear as a long opera length or double up into a multi-strand. I made a light grey drop earring to match ( I dont like too matchy matchy). The other strand is pale pink that is more traditional.
I have used freshwater pearls to make this spiral bracelet known as "Yoga Beach." In fact I just used leftovers from my bead stash..............yes I have a bead stash and a fabric stash
