I have been meaning to find a good pattern and make these for some time.

Using my stash of Japanese fabric and filled with rice they are working fine to keep my doors open.

Christmas Countdown - Scatter Cushions

As a last minute thought I decided to update my lounge suite with some red scatter cushions. Great red faux velvet from Spotlight was a bargain and looks very luxe for christmas.

They are really easy to make especially with an invisible zip........use this scatter cushion tutorial.

They make great gifts too.

Christmas Countdown - Reindeer Napkins

To go with my Christmas crackers I screenprinted my own reindeers onto fabric to make napkins.

I backed the napkin in red and now they are all sewn up and tied with ribbon and a name tag.

Nikki's Pattern Free Cowl Top

Now in my new studio and craft space I was looking for something to start my creative juices. In my stash I had some great red jersey and I wanted to experiment from Nikki's You Sew Girl Book.

This was very easy to make and  although I did not have enough length to cover my hips it sits just below my waist. I loved the technique of making a binded hem and used the beginners technique for the armhole binding.

I would certainly make another one but this time get the right length of fabric to sit on my hips. But a great first attempt........you really can't go wrong.

Perfect for layering or on it's own

Japanese Eco Bag

While keeping shop today I have made this beautiful cotton Eco bag from a kit and fabric from Kimono House. It will be perfect for my market shopping and I love the fact I can roll it up and pit it in it's own pouch.

I love New Look 6429, its a great pattern and it really suits me.

Made in this beautiful seasonal plum colour jersey for autumn/winter.

Poinsetta Fairy Doll 2

She is cute and although it's taken me along time to make I am keeping her for me.

I bought the kit with template and all the materials from AK Traditions in Malvern Road Hawksburn.

 

I love her little hat and added french knots around the waistband

 

Ink and Spindle Scatter Cushions

So pleased with the outcome. Such great hand screen printed fabrics from Ink and Spindle

 

 Here's my tutorial  using an invisible zip to give a really professional finish. I always place the zip on the bottom.
