It's some time since I posted my latest Creative Space, but today I have something to share. You can see my pincushion and felted christmas card I made into a needle book.
I am making Cherry Blossoms and Maple Leaf Handstitched Treasures and have decided to make them in a Christmas fabric, Thats the japanese cotton in the foreground.

I am so pleased I have finished hand quilting my "Diamonds Are Forever Quilt." It did not take me as long as I thought.......so here I am today making the bias binding for the border. I make a double binding and I want it to be an inch wide...so I cut it to 41/2" instead of 21/2"

Another week and my shirt is progressing. I am just finishing off the buttonholes and some hand sewing and it will be finished.
Also I have a new table to work on! Yippee........so a little bit more dedicated room and I can leave everything in place and dont have to pack away anything.

I have been able to squander a bit of time for crafting this week...but not much. Back on my kitchen bench making covered buttons to match a new shirt . As the fabric is silk and very thin I have used a light weight interfacing to give a bit more weight. Getting my wardrobe ready for Spring! Are you?

It was good to get your feedback last week. I am still working on them. This is the bugle bead that I have now cut up and have begun embellishing with seed beads and sequins. I have a sate stick through the middle which will allow me to thread them. I think they are too thick and next time I would make them thinner. To do that I would use less wool in the original square of felt before I roll it.
You can see the felted roll quite well here and perhaps I could use a quarter less wool next time.

I feel like one of those people you see who can only have a garden in pots or a small balcony garden. That's how my crafting is at the moment, not much space and everything in tubs to be put away each day. I would much prefer to keep stuff out and pick it up when I want but I can't so I am not doing too much at the moment.
So this week it's my kitchen table for felting. Using a small sheet of plastic, bubble wrap to make the long bugle bead and a sauce bottle to hold soapy water. This is the merino wool I bought last week.
I am just learning the felting technique to see if I like it with a small jewellery project. I have made one large bugle bead that I will cut up for one project and then mid size balls for another. Its great for a small craft area.

When I need to craft I really have to find any space I can for the task in hand. The most difficult is when I need to cut out fabric. So this week it's my kitchen countertop. You can see Curlypops swap pot holder in the background.
I am cutting out some silk for another classic shirt using New Look 6598
I am taking it along to the Burda Sewing Club tonight being held at Tessuti and is anyone going to the Craft and Quilt Fair? I will be there tomorrow if anyone wants a coffee and a chat.
